ASAA/NZ is awarding a selected number of travel grants to current MA and PhD students to help offset some costs associated with registration or travel from New Zealand to the 2017 conference in Adelaide. We will also support travel for recent PhD graduates (those who have graduated with a PhD within the last academic year, i.e. after July 2016). You will need to be a current ASAA/NZ member - only $7.50 for students - in order to be eligible for a travel grant.
To apply, please send the following MS Word documents to ASAA/NZ Secretary Nayantara Sheoran-Appleton by Monday, July 31st (after you have submitted your abstracts to Shifting States):
- Your updated CV. Please clearly identify whether you are current MA or PhD researcher, or a recently graduated PhD (gaining your qualification after July 2016).
- The abstract you submitted to the Shifting States Conference.
- Evidence of your current ASAA/NZ membership (a copy of the confirmation email you receive upon renewing or joining will suffice - just copy this underneath your abstract).
We will notify winners of award AFTER the Shifting States planning committee sends out confirmations for accepted papers/abstracts.
Additional funding sources for Masters and Honours students
If you are a Masters or Honours student, please consider applying for additional funds from the Kākano Fund under the October 2017 deadline.
We hope to have a fantastic cadre of students from ASAA/NZ representing at the Shifting States conference. Please feel free to get in touch with Nayantara if you have any additional questions.
